06/08/2016 – Temple Gym With Lewis Yates (Pics/Video)

Incidentally, the 6th of August 2012 was the day I started my blog. This is a great little post that I can use to celebrate my 4 years of talking random stuff to myself via the means of blogs. The DY Family are a huge piece of my journey and life. Whether it be supplements, clothing, books, dvd, philosophies etc, the DY name is never far from my reach.

Fortunately, Martin and Lewis now provide a Service which includes training with Lewis whilst Martin take photos/videos etc. I couldn’t help but book in a session to learn from and to enjoy.

Here’s to 4 years of running my blog on this never ending journey…

I decided a long time ago that competing on stage wasn’t for me. I will do it again one year, just for now I have different aims and goals. A few weeks back I went down Temple Gym and saw Martin recording a video of Lewis doing training etc. I enquired about the personal training shoot and decided that this was what ‘I’ wanted to do.

We turned up at the gym half hour early, made sure I got a DY Nox Pump down before going in to a high intensity back and biceps workout. We had a little discussion about what we will be doing and warmed up ready to train.

Lewis is very professional and showed me as well as talked me through each exercise as we did them. Lewis is a world renowned personal trainer and has the knowledge and expertise to help anyone with different goals. He also has a website where you can get more information on his services… www.templegymuk.com

What did we do?

  • Nautilus Pullovers
  • Pulldowns
  • Cable Rows
  • Barbell Rows
  • Hyper Extensions
  • Rear Delt
  • Shrugs
  • Isolated seated free weight curls
  • Cable curls
  • Bicep curl nautilus machine

In all honesty, I was tired from travelling and getting excited about the experience. After the first exercise I was aching and It was just a pre-exhausting exercise, which eliminates the biceps and allows maximum stress on the lats. Let’s get something right though, there’s training heavy, there’s training hard and then there’s training heavy and right. Granted it’s heavy for the way the exercise is executed and for my own personal level. I did some slight changes to what I usually do and it really did make such a huge difference, as my body wasn’t so used to it.

I asked as many questions as I could ask during the training session. I love to learn and knowledge is something I absolutely thrive for in this area of the sport that I enjoy. I learnt so much in such a short time and I have to do it again soon, maybe for legs, and then chest, delts and triceps.

Here’s a few shots from the training session and I can’t wait to drop a bit of body fat and get down there again!
